These are the requirements for various written submissions to the site.
These will be rotated into and out of featured article listings on the home (welcome) page of the site, listed under the Category in the directory, and will comprise an area of the website that is like a magazine or research resource. Articles are expected to be keyworded, linked, relevant to their category. You may submit well-researched essays, relevant stories, historical information, or general resources about the category. You may freely link to relevant information on your own website or your business's page in the directory, as long as the links are actually relevant -- there must be real content on the other end of the link that provides new, supporting, or supplemental information to the reader. Links that go offsite to websites other than your own need to be doubly relevant, of the highest reference quality (showing sources of information, for example), and should be chosen very carefully. Category Articles may be of unlimited length, but may be broken down on the site into smaller "parts" (i.e. Part I, Part II...) for reader convenience. Please make sure that your article has a well-grouped flow, subtitles, supporting images, and is spell-checked. We reserve the right to reject poorly referenced, inappropriately linked, and inadequately spell-checked articles. You may correct your work and re-submit it for consideration.
There are no limits to the number of Category articles you can submit. All original, relevant and well-written articles that are not redundant with more than 2 other articles in the category will be accepted into the rotation of articles on the site, however you can only qualify for a discount once per category or subcategory, and only if you qualify as a resident.
Non-residents may submit articles for consideration, following the same guidelines as above, but without the discount for membership.
Category introductions need to be more carefully thought out and concise while doing justice to introduce a category of the directory. There is a 500-word limit on introductions to keep them from becoming too lengthy, and to maintain peak reader interest. Keywords for the category should appear in the introduction (the introduction for herbalists should probably mention "herbs", "herbal medicine", "Chinese traditional medicine" and "Ayurveda" ). You may link to supporting information in other articles or on other pages in the directory, including your own page(s), in the introduction. Your name and a link to your business's page on the site will be featured as the attribution for the introduction while your introduction is displayed on the directory listing for your category. Links to external sites are more limited on introduction pages, please try to find supporting documents within the site.
Category introductions are chosen on a first-come first-served basis except where a new submission better meets the criteria for a category introduction. Once a category introduction is accepted for inclusion on the site, you qualify for the associated discounts regardless of whether or not your introduction is replaced. Once discounts are granted they are not revoked if your contribution is no longer featured on the site. You may compete for the featured place by resubmitting a revised introduction for the category. Category introduction discounts are only given once per category.
